The Riverside County Economic Development 'RED Team' is based on the concept has been utilized by economic development professionals to build regional initiatives to recruit and retain jobs.  It was used extensively by former Governor Pete Wilson in the early 1990s when the state’s economic foundation was rocked by military base closures, the corresponding decline in the aerospace industry and the subsequent economic downturn. 

Simply put, the RED TEAM is a mechanism to cut through the clutter and drive immediate reforms vital to the housing industry and the local economy’s survival.  As John Husing stated at the first Red Team meeting, “the Inland Empire is in a deep recession” and we need to take a hard look at issues so that we can rebuild our economic competitiveness.
