Together we are Stronger!!


Over the past several months your BIA has pushed harder than ever to gain new members, work with local governments, and place positive news about the housing market in our local media.

Here are the highlights:

  • CBIA media tour: CBIA leadership, including, Chairman Ray Becker and me, met with the the Inland Valley Daily Bulletin to push for state legislative help. See the news story here. 

     


     

  • Riverside County Red Team:

    BIA and local government leaders began working on a 'Red Team' approach to bring swift reforms for the homebuilding industry.


     

  • BIA makes huge strides

    in quest to reform fees and the entitlement process in Riverside County.


     

  • BIA welcomes new staff

    to fill key vacant membership and events positions.

Riverside“Red Team”

During the past year the BIA has been aggressively communicating the importance of the homebuilding industry on the local economy and the need for a collective approach to reinvigorate the industry.  We’re heartened to say that our message is now resonating.

Riverside County Supervisor John Tavaglione and Riverside Mayor Ron Loveridge have heeded this call and will be leading the charge to expedite economic recovery throughout the Inland Empire.

The goal of the Red Team is to :

  • Speed up a housing recovery
  •  
  • Produce long term housing affordability
  •  
  • Stimulate job growth
  •  
  • Cultivate strong long term economic growth
  •  
  • Protect local government services

Over the coming weeks and months, we will update you on the efforts of the Red Team.   Please check out our website for latest information. 

Government Affairs Update

BIA's staff has been making headway to protect your bottom line. Here are the most recent government affairs successes:

  • First city lowers fees!

    As a result of BIA efforts, Calimesa cut administration fees by 10%, saving members hundreds of thousands of dollars.

As the legislature decides how to close the $15 billion budget deficit it is crucial for us to make our voice as loud as possible and speak as one voice.

The American Dream Team is a group of California residents working at the grassroots level to ensure that our industry regains the strength of past and is poised for sustained growth in the future.

The American Dream Team is a way for like minded individuals to join together to support efforts to bolster the building industry and fight against attempts to further weaken the industry.  The philosophy is simple: When we speak together as one voice we are stronger and better positioned to achieve success for our industry.

Director of Membership

Tracey Long serves as the Director of Membership for the Building Industry Association, Riverside County Chapter.  She comes to the BIA with 14 years of building industry experience. Before joining the BIA she was the Director of Design at Model Home Source – an interior design firm especially tailored to model homes.

Director of Programs

Brenda Le serves as the Director of Programs for the Building Industry Association, Riverside County Chapter. She comes with a thirteen year background in Event Planning, Floral Design and Event Decorating combined with eight years of Management and Supervisory experience. For the past 6 years, Brenda has worked in the financial sector of the building industry.
